The eighth and final book of the Bibliotheca Sancta: Sixtus's defense of the Old Testament against the destroyers of the old Scripture — thirteen heresies, from the Manichaean assault on the Old Testament in general through the books of the Law, the Prophets, the Psalms, Daniel, Ecclesiastes, the Canticle, Wisdom and Ecclesiasticus, Job, Esdras and Tobit and Judith and Esther, and the Maccabees, closing with the great defense of the Church's translations and the Vulgate. With the theologians' approbation of the whole work, Genoa 1566. In English for the first time.
