Zebedee (2)

  1. ZEBEDEE, Father of the Apostles St. James and St. John the Evangelist. We know nothing in particular, or that can be relied on, concerning the Person or Actions of Zebedee, but only that he was a Fisherman by Profession, that his Wife was called Salome, and that his two Sons left him to follow our Saviour. See Matth. iv. 21.
