Aradus

ARADUS, a City and Island in the Mediterranean, near the coast of Phœnicia, over against Antaradus, which is a City upon the continent. The Isle of Aradus is but seven furlongs, or eight hundred seventy five paces about, and is two hundred paces distant from the continent. The Aradians or Arkites, who were the descendants of Canaan, dwelt at Aradus, Gen. x. 17. This country was promised to the Israelites; but they did not get possession of it till perhaps the reign of David or Solomon.
