Too-Much

1 Kings x. 22.TOO-MUCH, nimis. The Adverb nimis, which signifies too much, is commonly put for a great deal, or to enlarge upon any thing. It answers to the Hebrew Word Meod, valdè*, multùm*. And as in the Hebrew there is sometimes meod meod, so in the Vulgate, by way of Exaggeration, there is put nimis valde, or vehementer nimis.
