Theudas (1)

  1. THEUDAS, or Theodas. Gamaliel, in the Acts of the Apostles, says,1 that one Theudas set himself up some time before, and pretended to be some great Person: About four hundred Men joined themselves to him; but he was killed, and all those that believed in him were dispersed, and the matter came to nothing. Usher thinks that Theudas is the same as Judas, who revolted at the Death of Herod, and who is mentioned by Josephus.2
