TEMPTATION was also the Name of an Encampment of the Israelites in the Exod. xvii. 7. Deut. vi. 16.Wilderness: See Massah, which in Hebrew signifies Temptation. The same Encampment is also called Riphidim. ‘Twas there that Moses made the Water come forth out of the Rock Horeb.
