Sodomy

Gen. xix. 5, 6, 23, 24, &c. Judg. xix. xx. Lev. xviii. 22. & xx. 13. Rom. i. 27. Gal. iii. 28. 1 Cor. vi. 10. 1 Tim. i. 10.SODOMY ; a Crime against Nature, which consists in the abominable Use of a Man, as if he were a Woman. This Crime drew down the most terrible Effects of God’s Anger against the Inhabitants of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim. ‘Twas this same Enormity, with several others, which was the Reason that God destroy’d the Canaanites by the Arms of the Hebrews, under the Conduct of Joshua. The Inhabitants of Gibeah were also given to this abominable Sin ; which brought a War against the whole Tribe of Benjamin, which had like to have utterly exterminated them. Moses condemns this Crime, and forbids it, upon Pain of Death. St. Paul informs us, that it was very common among the Heathen, and declares, that all who fall into such Enormities, shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.
