II. SHALLUM Son of Jabesh, or perhaps a Native of Jabesh. He treacherously kill’d Zechariah King of Israel, and usurp’d his Kingdom, but kept it but one Month. Menahem the Son of Gadi kill’d him in Samaria1. The Scripture says, that Shallum was the Executioner of the Threatnings of the Lord, against the House of Jehu.
