Samuel (II)

II. SAMUEL, whom they make to be Son to the Prophet Urijah. Jeremiah xxvi. 23. speaks of the Prophet Urijah, but says nothing of this Samuel. The Scripture no where mentions him, and what the Spaniards say of him deserves no Consideration. They pretend he came into Spain, where he died, and that Six hundred Years after St. James Minor brought him to Life again, baptized him, called him Peter, and made him Bishop of Brague, where he ended his Life again by Martyrdom.
