PLANET: The Word Planet is not to be found in Scripture; and we cannot say whether the ancient Hebrews distinguish’d the Planets Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn, and Mars, from the Fixed Stars. Excepting the Sun and Moon, they placed all the other Celestial and Luminous Bodies in the Rank of Stars. See STARS.
