Myrtle

MYRTLE, in Latin, Myrthus, in Hebrew, Chadas, is taken for the Shrub that bears the Myrtle Flowers, and for the Flower it self, and for the Perfume that is extracted from thence. Myrtetum is a Place planted with Myrtles. This Shrub was common in Judaea. Ezra1 sent the People into the Fields to fetch Myrtle-branches, Palm, and Olive-branches, to make Tents at the Feast of Tabernacles.
