Minni

MINNI, or Menni; Jeremiah invites the Kings of Minni, Ararat, and Ashchenaz, to make War against Babylon. Ararat and Ashchenaz have been explained elsewhere. As to Minni, we think it to denote Minias, a Province of Armenia; and perhaps Armenia took its Name from Aram and Minni; the Syrian, of Minni or Minias, mentioned by Nicolas of Damascus, l. xcvi. as cited in Josephus, Antiq. Lib. i. c. 4. p. 10. B.C.
