Marcus Antonius Julianus

MARCUS ANTONIUS JULIANUS, Superintendant of Judæa, in the Year of Christ 70. He was present at the Siege of Jerusalem, and was one of those that advised the intire Destruction of it, and even of the Temple, for Fear the Jews might again revolt1. Minutius Fœlix2 refers the Pagans to Josephus and to Antonius Julianus, to be convinced, that the Jews were destroyed for this Reason alone, because they had forsaken their God; and that they had suffered no other Misfortunes, than what had been foretold them they should suffer, if they persisted in their Disobedience. This is perhaps the same Marc Anthony Julian mentioned by Josephus.
