I. MACHIR, Son of Manasseh, and Grandson of the Patriarch Joseph, chief and Prince of the Family of the Machirites. His Sons were Peresh and Sheresh, and he had a Daughter that was married to Hezron of the Tribe of Judah. She was Mother to Segub, and Grandmother to Jair. See 1 Chron. ii. 21, 22. vii. 16.
