HINNOM. The Valley Gehennom, or the Valley of the sons of Hinnom, so called from Hinnom. This Valley lies to the East Josh. xv. 8. xxiii. 16. 2 Kings xxiii. 10. Neh. xi. 30. Jerem. vii. 31.of Jerusalem. It is also called the Valley of Topheth. It is believed, that the God Moloch was worshipped there, and that a perpetual fire was kept up there in honour of him.
