Hind

HIND. The import of the Hebrew Text is often Hind, where we read in the Vulgate Stag: for example, Gen. xlix. 21. Naphtali is a Hind let loose. And in the Psalms, Psal. xviii. 33. He maketh my feet like Hind’s feet. The Hind is a gentle, amiable Creature, Prov. v. 19. The wise man compares a regular man’s wife to a Hind and a Fawn: Cerva charissima & gratissimus hinnulus: in the Hebrew, Cerva amorum, & hinnulus gratiæ.
