Is. xxx. 4. Hieron. in Isai. xxx. 4.HANES, a Town mentioned in Isaiah, which St. Jerom thinks to be upon the frontiers of Ethiopia. The Chaldee and our modern Interpreters think, that Hanes is put for Taphnæ, that is to say, Daphnæ Pelusiæ, near Damietta. The Septuagint do not read Hanes.
