DRUSILLA. Agrippa the Great’s third daughter by Cypros. She was at first promised in marriage to Epiphanes, the son of Antiochus King of Comagena, upon an assurance from this Prince, that he would be circumcised: but he refusing to perform this condition, the marriage was broke off. Drusilla was afterwards married to Azizus King of the Emessenians: but in a little time after, she left Azizus to marry Claudius Felix, Governour of Judæa, by whom she had a son, whose name was Agrippa. Before this Drusilla Acts xxiv. 24, 25.and her husband Felix, St. Paul appeared, and evidenced the truth of Christianity. And as the Apostle discoursed with his usual strength of reason, and resolution, concerning righteousness, temperance, and future Judgment, Felix trembling, said to him, Go thy way for this time, when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee. Drusilla passed for one of the most beautiful persons of her age, but not for one of the greatest chastity.
