Delta

Ps. xxviii. 10. ℸ Daleth.DELTA, is the fourth letter of the Greek Alphabet, and comes from the Hebrew Daleth. In Geography, that part of Egypt is called Delta, which is watered by the seven branches of the Nile, from its division as far as the seven mouths through which it discharges itself into the Mediterranean: septemplicis ostia Nili. This part of Egypt is called Delta, because it comes pretty near to the figure of this letter, its point lying towards Grand Cairo, and its basis upon the coasts of the Mediterranean.
