Dadan

DADAN, the son of Jokshan, and grandson Gen. xxv. 3.of Abraham and Kethurah. Dadan was the father of the Letushites, Asshurites, and Leummites. He dwelt in Edom, where Jeremiah places the city of Dedan. Ezekiel speaks of Dedan, the people whereof traded at Tyre, together with those of Shebah, Eden, Ashur, and Chilmad. From whence we conclude, that one or both of the two Dadans here mentioned, dwelt in Mesopotamia or Syria, and near the people of Ashur and Eden.
