Costobarus (II)

II. COSTOBARUS, a Relation of King Agrippa’s, having put himself, together with one Saul, at the head of a Troop of Thieves and Villains, did an infinite deal of Mischief in Judæa. They left Jerusalem after the defeat of Cassius, foreseeing well the Misfortunes with which their Country would be overwhelmed1, and went away to Cestius, who sent them to Nero, at that time in Achaia, that they might lay before him the State of Judæa, and impute the whole Cause of the War to Florus’s ill conduct.
