Caphar-Gamala

CAPHAR-GAMALA, a place twenty miles distant from Jerusalem. Lucius the Priest, an Author of the fifth Age, who wrote an historical account of the manner wherein S. Stephen came to be found, was of Caphar-Gamala. This place seems to have taken its name from Gamaliel, who was the proprietor of it, and took care to have S. Stephen buried there.
