BETHOANNABA, or Beth-hannaba. Eusebius says, it is a town four miles Eastward from Diospolis. S. Jerom, that it is placed by many at eight miles distance from Diospolis. Bethoannaba seems to preserve still some remains of the word Nob, where the Tabernacle continued for some 1 Sam: xxi. 1.time in the reign of Saul. S. Jerom in S. Paula’s Epitaph, says that Nob was not far from Diospolis.
