BESOR, or Bosor, a Brook which falls into the Mediterranean, between Gaza and Rhinocorura; or rather between Rhinocorura and Egypt, according to S. Jerom, on the sixth Chapter of Amos. This is the brook of the wilderness, which many have taken unadvisedly for the brook or river of Egypt, which is spoken of in some places of Scripture, and is no other than the Nile, or the most Eastern branch of this river.
