Baal-Meon

BAAL-MEON, a City in the Tribe of Reuben. Numb. xxxii. 38. 1 Chron. v. 8.

It is sometimes called Beth-Baal-Meon. The Moabites took it from the Reubenites, and they were masters of it in the time of Ezekiel. Eusebius and S. Jerom place Beel -Meon or Beel-Maus nine miles from Esbus or Esebon, at the foot of mount Baaru or mount Abarim.
