I. APHEK in the Tribe of Judah. There it was that the Philistines encamped 1 Sam. iv. 1, 2, 3, & seq.when the Ark was brought from Shiloh, which was taken in battle by the Philistines. It is probably the same as Aphekah mentioned in Josh. xv. 53.
