Anab

ANAB, a City in the Mountains of Judah, Josh. xi. 21. St. Jerom believes it to be the same with Bethanaba, eight miles Eastward from Diospolis. Eusebius places Bethoanab at four miles distance from the same City of Diospolis. Epiphanius1 speaks of a City or Village called Anablata, in the Diocese of Jerusalem towards Bethel; but I do not think any of these places to be the Anab mentioned by Joshua, which with Hebron and Debir is set by him more to the South of Judah.
