Adrumetum

ADRUMETUM, a City of Africk in Lybia, Capital of the Province of Byzatium. We read in the Acts of the Apostles, Acts xxvii. 1,2. Navigantibus nobis in Adria.that St. Paul in his first voyage to Italy embarked in a Vessel that was going to Adrumetum. But it is much more probable that we should read Adramyttium in the Text; because we know St. Paul was going into Asia, as St. Luke testifies, and Adramyttium was a maritime Town of Mysia, in Asia Minor, over-against the Island of Lesbos.
