Question 113. Whether she had the grace of healings?

Quod autem haec maxime fuerit in beata Virgine, patet:
1. Ipsa enim totum hominem sanum fecit in anima et corpore. Altissimus creavit medicamenta de terra. Illa, inquam, medicamenta de quibus dicitur, Eccli. XXXVIII, 4: Medicina omnium in festinatione nebula 2, id est, caro Christi, de terra quidem nata, sed nullo pondere praegravata, ultra puritatem Angelorum exaltata, subito Spiritu sancto operante formata et lineamentata.
QUESTION 113. Whether she had the grace of healings?
There follows: To another, the grace of healings 1. The Gloss says: “Of curing the sick.”
But that this was especially in the blessed Virgin is clear:
1. For she herself made the whole man healthy in soul and body. The Most High created medicines from the earth. Those medicines, I say, concerning which it is said, Ecclesiasticus 38:4: The medicine of all things is in the haste of a cloud 2, that is, the flesh of Christ, indeed born from earth, but weighed down by no weight, exalted beyond the purity of Angels, suddenly formed and outlined by the working Holy Spirit.
2. Item, Eccli. XXIV, 41: Ego quasi fluvii dioryx, quod est medicamentum generationis, exivi de paradiso, id est, de beata Virgine, quae fuit paradisus voluptatis a principio, in quo posuit Deus hominem, id est, Christum quem formaverat.
3. Item, Nullus morbus fuit ei incurabilis: ergo vicit omnes in gratia sanitatis.
4. Item, Etiam post mortem curat morbos et mortem fugat.
5. Item, Quos curat, sanat ad immortalitatem: ergo superavit omnes in gratia sanitatis. Sic igitur patet qualiter beatissima Virgo habet gratiam sanitatis in summo 3.
2. Likewise, Ecclesiasticus 24:41: I came forth from paradise like a channel of a river, which is the medicine of generation, that is, from the blessed Virgin, who was from the beginning the paradise of delight, in which God placed man, that is, Christ whom he had formed.
3. Likewise, no disease was incurable for her. Therefore she surpassed all in the grace of healing.
4. Likewise, even after death she cures diseases and drives away death.
5. Likewise, those whom she cures, she heals unto immortality. Therefore she surpassed all in the grace of healing. Thus therefore it is clear in what way the most blessed Virgin has the grace of healing in the highest degree 3.
