Sequitur in epistola I ad Corinth. XII, 9: Alteri fides. Glossa: « Constantia fidei vel sermo fidei. »

Quod autem beatissima Virgo plus habuit de fide sic sumpta, sic probatur: quia

1. Ejus fides numquam defecit nec fuit intercepta: aliorum constantia fuit deficiens et intercepta: ergo ipsa vicit omnes in fidei constantia. Unde illud solet exponi de ea, Eccle. I, 4: Generatio praeterit, et generatio advenit: terra autem in aeternum stat.

There follows in the First Epistle to the Corinthians 12:9: To another, faith. The Gloss says: “Constancy of faith or speech of faith.”

But that the most blessed Virgin had more of faith taken in this way is proved thus, because:

1. Her faith never failed nor was interrupted; the constancy of others was failing and interrupted. Therefore she herself conquered all in constancy of faith. Hence that saying is customarily explained about her, Ecclesiastes 1:4: A generation passes away, and a generation comes; but the earth stands forever.
