Quando vero tres termini ita se habent ad invicem, quod idem terminus (qui praedicatum est) huic quidem termino qui major est extremitas inest omni: huic autem, hoc est, alteri extremitati nulli inest: vel ita quod medium utrique extremitati inest omni, ita quod de utraque universaliter praedicatur et affirmative: vel utrique nulli inest, ita quod in utraque praemissarum negatur universaliter de utroque extremorum, ita scilicet quod bis praedicatur medium, in majori quidem propositione de majori extremitate, in minori autem propositione de minori

But when three terms have themselves to one another in such a way that the same term (which is the predicate) belongs to every one of this term which is the greater extreme, but belongs to none of this one, that is, of the other extreme; or in such a way that the middle belongs to every one of each extreme, so that it is predicated of each universally and affirmatively; or belongs to none of either, so that in each premise it is universally denied of each of the extremes, namely so that the middle is predicated twice, in the major proposition concerning the greater extreme, and in the minor proposition concerning the lesser
