This last part of ch. 4 explains three [things]. First, where the Israelites pitched their first camp. Second, how the Leader Joshua himself set up there those 12 stones (about which above). Third, how he set them forth [explained them]. But all these now pertain to the other [second] part of this book. And therefore, before I begin about them, [I] must pass a little to [gather] the [things] useful for morals, and the documents [lessons] or interpretations — from those [things] which were said about this crossing — of the mysteries of our Christian piety.
