Shoshannim

SHOSHANNIM, or Sosanim; a This Title is read before Psal. lxix. and lxxx. The Seventy translate it by those that shall be changed: St. Jerome and Aquila by the Lilies: Symmachus by the Flowers. We think Shoshannim to signify an Instrument of six Strings, or a Song of Rejoycing. See our Preface to the Title of Psalm xlv. Eructavit cor meum verbum meum.
