Sacæ

SACÆ. The Sacæ are a People of Herodot. l. 3. Athenæ. l. 14 c. 10. Strab. l. xi.Asia; and the Sacean Feasts are known in Persia. Herodotus says, that the Persians gave the Name of Sacæ to all the Scythians. This People has no other relation to our Subject, than that we believe Shesbach, mention’d by Jeremiah, xxv. 26. li. 41. stands for Babylon, and that the Sacean Feasts were celebrated in Honour to the Moon. See SHESHACH.
