Reu

REU, or Ragau, or Retui, Son of Peleg,1 was born in the Year of the World 1787. His Father was then thirty Years old. He begat Serug, being two and thirty Years old, in the Year of the World 1819, and died at the Age of two hundred and thirty-nine years, in the Year of the World 2026, before Christ 1974, before the vulgar Era 1976. It is not impossible, but that the City of Ragæ, and the Plain of Ragau, may have taken their Names from Reu, Rehu, or Ragau; for all these are the same in the Hebrew. All the Difference depends upon the Pronunciation of the Letter עAin or Gnain.
