Pharurim

PHARURIM. Nathanmelech, Eunuch to King Josiah, had his Dwelling at Pharurim, near the Entrance of the Temple. The Chaldee, and most of the Interpreters, think Pharurim signifies the Suburbs. 1 Chron. xxvi. 18.We find in the Chronicles a Place to the West of the Temple, call’d Parbar. In short, I imagine Pharurim, or Phrurim, is the same as Phrourion in Greek, which signifies a Watch or Guard. Nathanmelech had his Abode near the Body of the Guard of the Temple.
