MOAB, Son of Lot, and of his eldest Daughter. The Circumstances of his Conception and Birth may be seen, Gen. xix. 31, &c. This happened about the same Time as the Birth of Isaac, Son of Abraham and Sarah, that is, in the Year of the World 2108, before Christ 1892, before the common Æra 1896. Moab was Father of the Moabites, who dwelt to the East of Jordan and of the Dead-Sea, upon the River Arnon.
