Jeshimon

JESHIMON. This is probably the same as Hesmona, Asemona, Esem, Esemon, and Esemona, a city in the Wilderness of Maon, belonging to the Tribe of Simeon, lying a great way in the southern part of Palestine, and even in Arabia Petræa. See 1 Sam. xxiii. 24. Josephus Antiq. l. 6. c. 14. p. 198. G.reads the Wilderness of Simeon, instead of the Wilderness of Maon, where Jeshimon was situated. This city belonged to the Tribe of Simeon.
