Josh. xii. 17.II. HEPHER. Joshua killed a Canaanitish Prince, who was King of Hepher. This Town of Hepher is perhaps the same as Ephrain, 2 Chr. xiii. 19. in the Tribe of Benjamin; or as Ophrah, in the same Tribe, the place of Gideon’s birth, five miles eastward from Bethel, according to St. Jerom.
