GESHURITES; they dwelt beyond Jordan in the Half-Tribe of Manasseh. These Geshurites are joined with the inhabitants of Maachathi; and it is said that they continued in their country, and were not driven out of it by the Israelites. Ishbosheth, the son of Saul, was acknowledged King by these Geshurites, and by the Israelites2 Sam.ii.8. of Gilead.
