DAMARIS, whom some think to have been the wife of Dionysius the Areopagite, was converted by St. Paul’s sermons at Athens. We know nothing of the life of Damaris. It is said she lived at Athens with Dionysius the bishop of the place, and the Greek calendar institutes the commemoration of her to be upon the 4th of October.
