ASSEMON, Assemona, the same as Asemon, Azmon, Hashmonah, or Jeshimon, a City in the Wilderness of Maon, lying 1 Sam. xxiii. 25. Josh. xv. 4. Numb. xxxiii. 29. Ch. xxxiv. 4, 5. חסידיםSouthward of the Tribe of Judah. It is likewise an incampment of the Israelites in the Desart. Azmon was the nearest City to Egypt on the South side.
