Judith ii. 12.ANGE, a Mountain mentioned in the Latin text of Judith; for the name is not to be met with in the Greek. The text says that this Mountain lies to the left of Cilicia. We take it to be the Mountain Argæus, situated to the left or north of Cilicia: It is the highest in all these parts. Strabo1 affirms that it is always cover’d with snow, and that they who are able to climb to the top of it, which happens but very rarely, and with great difficulty, see the two seas when the air is clear, viz. the Euxin and the Sea of Cilicia.
