ALEMA, a City in the Country of 1 Macc. v. 26. Is. xv. 8.Gilead, beyond Jordan. Isaiah speaks of Elim, in the Country of Moab. Helmonknown to be in the same Country: and this may perhaps be the same with Alema, mentioned in the Maccabees.
