you, but rather diffusive goodness, piety for forgiving, attractive mercy. 1. The holy Theotokos, Virgin and Mother of God, is honored by God in her glorious assumption in this, that on account of her honor the Lord remits sins to the guilty, pours grace into the dry, and promises glory to the just. II Kings VI, 12 and following: David, that is, Christ, went and brought the ark of God, that is, Mary, from the house of Obededom, namely in the assumption, into the city of David, that is, into the empyrean heaven, with joy. And there were seven choirs with David. The first of these is the choir of Angels. The second, of Patriarchs. The third, of Prophets. The fourth, of Apostles. The fifth, of Martyrs. The sixth, of Confessors. The seventh, of all holy Virgins. By all these the Queen of heaven was honored in her assumption. And David, that is, Christ, blessed the people, remitting sins to the guilty, pouring grace into the dry, and promising glory to the just. And he distributed to the whole multitude of Israel ... a cake
