XXXVIII. Dominica decima post festum Trinitatis, Oratio. Et ut appropinquavit Jesus Jerusalem, videns civitatem, flevit super illam ¹. Domine Jesu Christe, in tentatione et tribulatione mea doce me cognoscere tempus visitationis tuae: videam peccata mea et defleam quae in die temporalis pacis abscondita sunt ab oculis cordis mei: ne inimici mei, daemonum suggestiones, temporalium rerum pulchritudines, et carnales voluptates circumdent, coangustent, et ad terram prosternant me, et filios meos, sensus scilicet, et cogitatus, et affectus meos qui in me sunt, et ordinem virtutum destruant. Ejice ab anima mea simulationem ementium, et jactantiam vendentium gratiam tuam, ut fiam templum praedicationis, domus orationis in praesenti et tuae laudis in futuro. Amen.

XXXVIII. Tenth Sunday after the Feast of Trinity, Prayer. And as Jesus drew near to Jerusalem, seeing the city, he wept over it ¹. Lord Jesus Christ, in my temptation and tribulation teach me to know the time of your visitation; may I see my sins and weep over the things that in the day of temporal peace are hidden from the eyes of my heart, lest my enemies, the suggestions of demons, the beauties of temporal things, and carnal pleasures, surround, press tight, and throw down to earth me and my sons, namely my senses, thoughts, and affections that are in me, and destroy the order of virtues. Cast out from my soul the simulation of those buying and the boastfulness of those selling your grace, so that I may become a temple of preaching, a house of prayer in the present and of your praise in the future. Amen.
