XXXVI. Dominica octava post festum Trinitatis, Oratio. Attendite a falsis Prophetis ¹. Domine Jesu Christe, doce nos vitare fallaciam possibilitatis, causae, apparentiae, et defectus. Da nobis imitari spiritualis ovis simplicitatem, innocentiam, mansuetudinem, discretionem, docilitatem, et compassionem, ejus pellibus et lana vestiri, carne cibari, et lacte potari, fibris jucundari, et fimo spiritualiter impinguari. Fac nos cavere diaboli spiritualis lupi visum venenosum, anhelitum foetidum, morsum rabidum, sitim lividam, ponderationem, et venenationem. Doce nos radices arboris nostrae caelo, et non terrae infigere: ne in foliis verborum tantum, sed potius in fructibus bonorum operum fideles cognoscamur. Amen.

XXXVI. Eighth Sunday after the Feast of Trinity, Prayer. Beware of false Prophets ¹. Lord Jesus Christ, teach us to avoid the fallacy of possibility, of cause, of appearance, and of defect. Grant us to imitate the simplicity, innocence, meekness, discretion, teachableness, and compassion of a spiritual sheep, to be clothed with its skins and wool, to be fed with its flesh and given to drink with its milk, to be delighted with its entrails, and to be spiritually enriched with its dung. Make us beware the poisonous sight, fetid breath, rabid bite, livid thirst, weighing down, and poisoning of the devil, the spiritual wolf. Teach us to set the roots of our tree in heaven and not in earth, so that we may be known as faithful not only in leaves of words, but rather in fruits of good works. Amen.
