XLVIII. Dominica vicesima post festum Trinitatis, Oratio. Simile est regnum caelorum homini regi qui fecit nuptias filio suo ¹. Domine Jesu Christe, rex caelestis gloriae qui filiis Abrahae per poenitentiam te imitantibus, sponsam bonam vitam religionis dedisti, propter fidem thori spiritualis, propter prolem bonorum operum, et sacramentum inseparabilitis, et nos per nuntios tuos, sacram Scripturam, periculum vivendi, infirmitates, mutationem fortunae, et gratuitam voluntatem ad has nuptias vocasti: Da nobis charitatem, vestem nuptialem, ne a laude Dei et confessione peccati obmutescamus; ne a refectione, spirituali gaudio scilicet, pace, et securitate separemur: vel vestem pietatis, ne ligatis manibus et pedibus impietatis in tenebras exteriores, ubi erit fletus et stridor dentium, projiciamur. Amen.

XLVIII. Twentieth Sunday after the Feast of Trinity, Prayer. The kingdom of heaven is like a man, a king, who made a wedding for his son ¹. Lord Jesus Christ, king of heavenly glory, who to the sons of Abraham imitating you through penitence gave as spouse the good life of religion, because of the faith of the spiritual marriage-bed, because of the offspring of good works, and the sacrament of inseparability, and called us also to these weddings through your messengers, sacred Scripture, the danger of living, infirmities, change of fortune, and gratuitous will: give us charity, the wedding garment, lest we be made mute from the praise of God and confession of sin, lest we be separated from refreshment, namely spiritual joy, peace, and security; or give the garment of piety, lest, with hands and feet of impiety bound, we be cast into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Amen.
