XXVIII. Dominica prima post festum Trinitatis, Oratio. Homo quidam erat dives qui induebatur, etc. ¹. Domine Jesu Christe, cum sim homo pauper virtutibus, plenus peccatorum ulceribus, mendicus ad januam tuae misericordiae: cupiens saturari de micis tribulationum quae cadunt de mensa divitum filiorum tuorum, qui induuntur purpura passionum castarum affectionum, et epulantur quotidie splendide ferculis virtutum: veniant canes, Doctores tui, et lingant ulcera peccatorum meorum, ut moriens mundo deporter ab Angelis bonorum operum in sinum contemplationis. Mitte Lazarum, adjutorium gratiae tuae, ut intingat saltem extremum digiti operum meorum in aquam verae contritionis, ut refrigeret carnem meam, quia crucior in hac concupiscentiarum flamma. Testetur quinque sensibus meis, ne ipsi veniant in locum gehennalium tormentorum, sed audiant Moysen, declinando a malo et faciendo bonum, et Prophetas, quia tunc sperabunt vitam aeternam, cum ex mortuis resurgent, se habituros. Amen.

XXVIII. First Sunday after the Feast of Trinity, Prayer. There was a certain rich man who was clothed, etc. ¹. Lord Jesus Christ, since I am a man poor in virtues, full of ulcers of sins, a beggar at the gate of your mercy, desiring to be satisfied from the crumbs of tribulations that fall from the table of the rich, your sons, who are clothed in the purple of the passions of chaste affections and feast daily splendidly on the dishes of virtues: let the dogs, your Doctors, come and lick the ulcers of my sins, so that, dying to the world, I may be carried by the Angels of good works into the bosom of contemplation. Send Lazarus, the help of your grace, that he may dip at least the tip of the finger of my works into the water of true contrition, so that he may cool my flesh, because I am tormented in this flame of concupiscences. Let him testify to my five senses, lest they themselves come into the place of Gehenna torments, but let them hear Moses, by declining from evil and doing good, and the Prophets, because then they will hope that they, when they rise from the dead, will have eternal life. Amen.
