XXIII. Dominica tertia post octavas Paschae, Oratio. Vado ad eum qui me misit ¹. Domine Jesu Christe, abstrahe nos a sensibilibus, ne teneritudo carnalis amoris impediat in nobis spiritualis dilectionis perfectionem: ut sciamus meditationes orationis intellectus et affectus, contemplationis et actionis, sapientiae et bonitatis prout expedit: vade ad Patrem, et mitte Paraclitum ad nos, qui vice tui invisibiliter pugnet pro nobis, et arguat mundum in praesenti pro peccato quod excusat, de justitia quam simulat, et de judicio quod usurpat: ne in futuro arguamur a te. Doce nos omnem veritatem vitae, justitiae, doctrinae, cordis, oris, operis, ut non usurpemur loqui et a nobismetipsis, nec praesumamus nisi quae audivimus loqui et quae ventura sunt in opere. Te summam veritatem ratione intelligamus, oratione loquamur, opere clarificemus et non obscuremus. Amen.

XXIII. Third Sunday after the Octaves of Easter, Prayer. I go to him who sent me ¹. Lord Jesus Christ, draw us away from sensible things, lest the tenderness of carnal love impede in us the perfection of spiritual love, so that we may know the meditations of prayer, of understanding and affection, of contemplation and action, of wisdom and goodness, as is expedient. Go to the Father, and send the Paraclete to us, who in your place may fight invisibly for us, and may convict the world in the present concerning the sin that it excuses, concerning the justice that it simulates, and concerning the judgment that it usurps, lest in the future we be convicted by you. Teach us every truth of life, justice, doctrine, heart, mouth, and work, so that we may not be usurped to speak even from ourselves, nor presume to speak except the things that we have heard and the things that are to come in work. May we understand you, the highest truth, by reason, speak you by prayer, clarify you by work, and not obscure you. Amen.
